||||
| The mission of the Aberdeen Police Department is to work with the citizens of Aberdeen to preserve life, maintain human rights, protect property, and promote individual responsibility and community commitment.
The dominant values of the Aberdeen Police Department are
By making a commitment to employees, management's conviction declares that we believe our employees are our most valuable assets. As a Department and as individuals, we believe in the respect for the human dignity of our employees and we make the mandate that supervisors and peers treat each other fairly, honestly and equally. In our commitment to quality service we make the statement to the citizens of Aberdeen to deliver their public safety needs recognizing the values of fairness, equality, and the respect for human dignity. The values of the Aberdeen Police Department must be considered together as we will not put one value aside in favor of the other. The effectiveness of our commitment to these values and the integrity of our employees rest in the ability to balance these values in every situation. Digression from these values compromises the effectiveness of the organization. In fulfilling our mission, we need the support of citizens, elected representatives and city employees. |
